The Social Fire Returns

Yuuuuupppppp. It did. If you’ll remember last week, I was kinda bored. Complacent, really would be the way to describe it. I set out this week to shake off the shackles of complacency and actually was able to do it! I rekindled my social fire and I have had a terrific week online. I wrote a blog for CFCS that has something my business blogs had been sorely lacking. It has my personality back into it. That is when I am at my best, when I blog as if I was talking to you at that very moment. That is when I get retweets, like, and shares.

My big accomplishment of the week was the launch of the newly redesigned Sayyah’s Cleaning website. Quite honestly, this one was a bear. It should not have been a bear which is what I think makes it more grizzly-like. I built it using WordPress just as I did for this site and the CFCS site. It was just oddly harder to do. And then the site just plain refused to migrate over to our new host. Eventually though, it realized it could no longer fight against my wishes and it complied. Anyhow, now it’s about 1,000 times easier for me to do everything which means the time I spend working on it now will be more profitable and it will produce more. Good times.

I spent a wonderful Saturday this past weekend with many of the people I have met on Twitter. Hang outs like that are very cool to me because it serves as a reminder to me that while social media is very much a business and it does pay my bills, there is also a personal side to it. I would not know a single one of the people I spent my Saturday with without this job. It’s kind of surreal to me at times how that all works. I like to think of it as a perk.

Speaking of perks, the next Tampa Bay Lightning Social Suite is next Saturday and I have my ticket! Last time was beyond amazing and I have no reason to believe this time will be any different. Expect pictures. Like, a lot of them. I know the Lightning’s season kinda didn’t go the way we wanted it to, but they have always treated the fans so well, how can you not love them? This season, they have really recognized and embraced the power of their social media fan base and have done a ton of fun stuff for us like the social suite nights and their Lightning Strikes Twitter contest. There is a lot to be learned from them.

I want to wrap this post up with something kind of exciting for me. Since I have been doing the SMNoob series, the response has been kind of cool. I have had people ask me to do websites for them, I have a company that wants help with their social media, I even have someone who wants help with their blog. All of this is really awesome, but how do I organize and manage it? A little while back, I used to fix computers as a side business. I ran under the banner of TTH Enterprises (The Tom Hall, get it?). I have decided to revive that and re-brand it. Soon, you will see the launch of TTH Media. Websites, Social Media Consulting, that sort of thing. I am going to have a family one day and damned if they won’t want to eat and live in a house. I might as well have fun making that happen. Time to strike while the fire burns.
